The RCAVe offers a multi-disciplinary collective approach to understanding the impact of electrification on the future of vehicle and mobility. The RCAVe addresses this complex challenge by conducting fundamental research, working with industry and other stakeholders. The center has 15 core members and more than 20 associated members with a large network of researchers and PhD students. The members of the center already received more than Rp30M for projects covering the electric vehicles research area, charging infrastructure, battery recycle, autonomous vehicles, analysis of the economic and business model innovation of future automobility. We work on key transformative issues such as vehicle autonomous control, charging of electric vehicles (dynamic charging on the road), user and traveler behaviors, and the modelling of transport systems, smart grids, energy demand scenarios for EVs, regulatory options, and consumer barriers and incentives. The Center began with three initial research projects, and with the development of a Electric Vehicle Research Roadmap, identified high-priority research areas for future research, including consumer perspectives and vehicle use, charging infrastructure, fleet market development, battery studies, and the impact of human-machine interfaces on behavior.
